The Little Warriors for Christ Dance Team and the Puppets with Praise’s first Praise Dance Celebration is scheduled from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at Tabernacle of Love Ministries, 1360 Tiger Drive, Thibodaux.
An event, 2011 Courageous Men’s Breakfast, for those 13 and older is scheduled from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 25 at St. Genevieve Catholic School’s cafeteria, 807 Barbier Ave., Thibodaux. The event costs $5 per person. Tickets are available at the church office, 815 Barbier Ave., Thibodaux. Deadline for purchasing tickets is noon Sept. 21.
An Acadiana area pilgrimage to Italy is scheduled for Oct. 1-11. The Rev. Louis Richard will lead the trip to Milan, Rome, and Amalfi Coast, San Giovanni Rotondo and Gargano. Participants will visit St. Peter’s Basilica, the tomb of Pope John Paul II, the Vatican museums, Shrine of St. Padre Pio, as well as receive a papal blessing from Pope Benedict XVI. Couples celebrating 25, 40, 50, 60 and more years of marriage will be honored at a Mass scheduled for 2 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Cathedral of St. Francis de Sales, 500 Goode St., Houma. A reception will follow in the courtyard with music provided by the Houma-Terrebonne Community Band.
The drawing for the Genevieve Foundation’s St. Genevieve Catholic Church $100 per ticket Dream Home Raffle is Aug. 18, 2012. The three-bedroom, 2-1/2-bath home being raffled is located in Acadia Plantation subdivision, 128 Rue Celeste, Thibodaux. The Rev. Dean Danos, pastor of St. Genevieve, said the benefit is to reduce the church’s debt. Les Gomez of Gomez Design Group designed the home, Jarod Land Development Company donated the lot and Chris Ledet Homes, Ltd. provided the construction of the home.
