HIBS kid Scott Smith has revealed he used to be sick of hearing his teachers banging on about the school's star former pupil Ian Murray all the time.
Now the rookie sees Murray every day and admits he's delighted when the Easter Road skipper gives him lessons in training.
The 19-year-old will make his competitive debut for the first team tonight when Berwick come calling on League Cup duty.
And he knows the pressure is on as he tries to follow in the footsteps of Boroughmuir High School's most famous ex-pupil.
The Scotland Under-19 defender said: "When I was at school I used to hear the teachers talk about Ian Murray all the time.
"I heard his name mentioned at least once a week and I began to get sick of it. I was a Hibs fan so I knew a lot about him anyway.
"Ian's a great pro, he has been at Rangers and also played down south so there is a lot he can teach you.
"I haven't told him how much they talked about him at the school but we've spoken about a few teachers we disliked and things like that. But I won't say any more on that!" Just like Murray, Smith is versatile and can play left-back, central defence and in midfield.
And the youngster has already experienced taking on Berwick having played the Third Division side in a pre-season friendly.
Smith added: "We won 3-0 down there and I played the full second half.
"They were a well-organised side and it will be their cup final coming to our patch so we'll have to work hard if we want to go through."
Meanwhile, Damon Gray insists Berwick's posse of ex-Hibs players will be desperate to pile the pressure on their old club.
The 23-year-old striker said: "We call ourselves Berwick Hibernian these days because me, Stevie Notman, Kevin McDonald, Lee Currie and Darren Smith all used to play for them.
"This is now a chance for us to go there and impress. It is a night to enjoy as all the pressure is on them.
