Newbie question about chopping up samples - Future Producers ...
I see guys like boon doc chop up samples like nothing, have them perfectly programmed into their pads so it's like perfectly divided samples and then he finds more melodies with those samples. I've tried chopping up samples since the day I got the mpc but I can never get it chopped like that.. can I also do that with just the mpc 1000 and FL studio 10? I know this is a very simple question. I'll just apologize if you guys think I should read the manual or search.. but I really did read the manual and searched this forum. If it's a duplicate question just give me the link to that question and I'll erase the post. Sorry guys, I really tried my best but couldn't figure it out. And I saw some very harsh comments on newbies like us who are confused. To everyone who read this, thank you for your time. I have been chopping for so long my advice may do more harm than good... When u perfect/imitate someone else style u lose the beauty in this thing we call production of Hip Hop. At times I would break a sample down to 16 parts, and that may work at times. Other times i would break a sample down to just a simple hit, Blunmp !!! And use those hits to make a track. There is no rules !!! Just your ears...
