Community service opportunitiesThe Governor's Office of Community Service provided a list of activities for the National Day of Service and Remembrance, which includes:
- RSVP and Emergency Preparedness staff a booth at the Chokecherry Festival from 9 am to 16:30 Saturday at Lewistown.
- Yellowstone County Day of Caring will be held Sept. 15 in Billings with employee groups and local volunteers do service projects for dozens of local nonprofit organizations. About 1,000 volunteers are expected to complete 85 projects 37agencies.
- A Veterans Stand Down will be held in September17 in Sydney to join the veterans in need of warm clothing, haircuts, food or referral to community services. Richland / McCone RSVP is one of several sponsors. For more information, call 406-443-2207 to Idelle Badt.

Sixty soldiers of the 592nd Ordnance Company U.S. Army arrived in Billings on Sunday, after a year deployment in Afghanistan.
