Space heater assembly in former Ohio warehouse
A company is ready to open a space heater assembling line in a former Hoover Co. warehouse in northeast Ohio, moving work that was once done in China.Hundreds of jobs have been lost in the Canton area in the past few years after the former Hoover vacuum cleaner factory, based in the area for a hundred years, closed down.
The Canton Repository reports ( http://bit.ly/n0HLgi) Friday that Suarez Manufacturing Industries will assemble EdenPURE space heaters and other products in a 200,000-square foot warehouse that Hoover once used as a distribution center.
The company says 300 people will work in the former warehouse, assembling the heaters that were once put together in China.
The company says delivery problems prompted the firm to move the work to the United States.
